About Us
The Vietnam War Digital History Project is a 501c3 organization dedicated to advancing the education of the Vietnam War in American society.
The project was created by Abigail Pfeiffer - a military historian and educator. Abigail found that college students entered her American History courses with little to no knowledge of the Vietnam War - and this is a problem as people with no understanding of past wars are not prepared to understand current conflicts. Abigail decided to resign her teaching position to focus on this project.
Our goal is to collect as many oral histories from Vietnam Veterans and to make these oral histories freely available to the public. Additionally, we will provide free lesson plans for all ages so that educators can confidently teach the Vietnam War in their classrooms - and the oral histories will be integrated into the lesson plans. We also will have access to key primary sources relating to the war for educators or the public to access. We are currently in the early stages of the project so please check back as our first oral histories will be posted soon!
