LESSON PLANS
As part of our mission, we provide free lesson plans for educators to use in the classroom. Lesson plans include primary source integration as well as audio/visual material. Currently, we have five full lessons/modules available for educators to use in their classroom.
All these lesson plans were created for a 100 level Vietnam War History college course. However, they can also be modified and utilized for high school courses.
The lesson plans focus on the politics behind the war, as well as the impacts of the war on American society (with less attention on the military history/strategy and tactics of the war).
Be sure to check out some of our oral histories to use in your classroom - in our experience, students enjoy hearing about the war from people who were there. You can use the entire oral history or just pick and choose clips from the oral histories to supplement your lecture.
Feel free to download the lessons and make any changes for your own specific classroom. Questions? Reach out to us through the contact form and we can help with any lesson plan modifications!
